So the corporate portal I have chosen is Ikea. Wanna know why? Its pretty simple, because one of the topic which is coming out for the finals is Ikea. So I grab this opportunity to read more about Ikea

So as we all know Ikea is a multinational furnishing company founded in the early 1943 by Ingvar Kamprad. Ikea’s nature of business is selling home furnishings. Ikea’s business strategy is offering a wider range of home furnishings with good and high quality designed products at lower price level so that more people can afford buying them. Today, Ikea has become one of the most top furniture retailers in the world. Ikea company designs their own furniture, which is made by 1,500 suppliers in more than 50 countries in the world. There are many other companies that collaborate with Ikea. For example, Ikea has been working with Manugistics since year 2001. Ikea apply the Manugistics Demand Management solutions on all their Ikea product internationally. Examples are developing a sales planning Methodology and tools that assured realistic forecasts used for planning supplier, warehouse and transportation capacities. This planning also benefit from saving the cost in long0term commitments while keeping the risk of imbalance between commitments and demand to a minimum level. Other than that, in Malaysia, Tenaga National also collaborates with Ikea in supplying them electricity.

In conclusion, Ikea is also studying the benefits and odds of implementing the new technology RFID in their company to improve further traceability and inventory control. So wish here I would like to wish them good luck! I got fate in them, I know they will succeed. Keep it up Ikea!

Today’s lecture was fine, laughing and laughing as usual and that makes ms.saleena emo!.. Felt really bad and sorry for her. But well, we are just entertaining the class so that the class could be more lively and students wont fall asleep so think at the positive side, we are helping the lecturer in improving the atmosphere of the classroom so that she could feel happy and joyful teaching the diploma batch I know we have gone over the limit sometimes, but we really don’t have the intention in interrupting the class. We are jus enjoying this subject and all classes till the maximum level! However, it’s going to the end, after this semester I really don’t know whether there is another subject that could bring me so much happiness and pleasure like E-Commerce, and of course all this happiness wouldn’t be real if there isn’t the existence of the sparkling and shining lecturer, Ms.Saleena. Here I would really like to say the most meaningful word on earth which is Thank You. I guess there isn’t any other lecturer that could replace her in Taylor’s University College. You’re really a successful lecturer. You have leaded us through many things in this subject. I gratefully appreciate all the time u has spent on us, all the precious comments and opinion u have shared with us. Once again, Thank You. You’re just like my candle in the dark. This subject will always be remembered in my heart. Take care~

okay, i know my tittle is abit lame. just wanna put something different hehe…

This sem is coming to the end, Finals are jus right at the corner… ! This week will be the last week of lectures and tutorials. The the following week will be just revision.

hmm… i got the feeling that i will miss this sem, because i got a feeling in the following semester it would be a extremly stress sem. We will have 5 or 6 subjects again. LOL!. but i know eveyrthing got their pros and cons, for example in this sem, although there is only 1 subject and only a 2 hour class per day but to me i feel it has too much freedom and time therefore i had took advantage of it. On the other hand, in a long sem there are like 5 to 6 subjects and 4 – 6 hours class perday, its really damn stress. but it actually helps to fill up your time with studies in order to catch ur interest in studying.

LoL.. to conclude this, jus a simple saying… “Long Semesters are stressing, Short Semesters are boring” hahah! okay i shall stop here and go to sleep back to college 2morrow Ciaoz Dudes ~

1. In order to reduce the time-to-market, Procter & Gamble (P&G) make a good use out of the most well-known technology today which is the Internet. Firstly, they conducted a concept test and started of sending their product photos and descriptions to the potential customers in order to get their review and feedback about the product. If they receive any negative comment on the product, they will try hard to improve it and make it as perfect as possible. Once they achieve the positive response from the customers, they will send out sample product via mails and the customers were asked to fill out detailed questionnaires. Once the customer’s responses successfully met the companies’ internal hurdles, the company would start with mass TV advertising. Once again, special thanks to the people that have contributed their ideas in the creation of Internet.

2. Data mining is the process of analyzing data from different perspectives and   summarizing it into useful information like information that can be used to increase revenue or cutting down some cost. For example, Carrefour used the data mining capacity of Oracle software to analyze local buying patterns. They discovered that when some aunties bought Milo on Saturdays and Sundays, they also tended to buy Maggie Mee. Further analysis showed that these shoppers typically did their weekly grocery shopping on Saturdays and Sundays. On Thursdays, however, they only bought a few items. The retailer concluded that they purchased the Maggie Mee to have it available for the upcoming weekend. With this Data mining, Carrefour could use this newly discovered information in various ways to increase revenue. For example, they could move the Maggie Mee display closer to the Milo display. And, they could make sure Maggie Mee and Milo were sold at full price on weekends. So come back to this case, Procter & Gamble uses data mining to reveal the most enthusiastic groups which included teenage girls, brides-to-be, and young Hispanic Americans. Immediately, the company started to target these segments with appropriate advertising.

3. The research methods that were used by Procter & Gamble are on-demand solutions from RightNow Technologies (rightnow.com) as well as survey tools that carry out opinion polls between chosen segments of consumers who have opted into the company’s market research programs.

Sorry for the late update, I’ve been too lazy and busy throughout the Chinese New Year celebration and of course the Valentines Day. I wanted to blog yesterday night but my connection turn me down.

This Year Chinese New Year is like so quiet. I think it is getting quiter and slowly everyone will forget about this tradition (which I don’t hope so). Honestly,I love Chinese New Year among all festivals. I love the red decoration around , everyone wishing each other,foods ,drinks and angpau.haha.I went over to my girlfriend’s house to ‘pai nin’ and you know what??????

SHE GAVE ME A RED PACKET WITH 100 BUCKS!!!!

but when she came over to my house my dad gave her 100 bucks too! lol

Time flies when we’re having fun, It’s time to get myself back to college work and study. Finals in two weeks time ey.

Today we have just completed our 2^nd minor test which contains 10% marks. It’s not as tough as I thought after all. Next week is Chinese New Year! and guess what? The following week I will be having my mid term >.< Godness! Its time to study for real and score in this exam so that when it comes to the finals I would be much more relax and walk in the hall with full confidence =D hmm.. Nevermind! Lets put that all a side first and talk about the new year well, some how I don’t feel like gambling this year. Any other activities recommend besides gambling during Chinese New Year? LOL! Every year also gamble, boring wei ! Guess I might just concentrate studying for my mid term. Amazon.com and Walmart.com! I am going to do a massive research on both of this website. Here I come Amazon and Walmart !

LOLx.. time really flies as yujing said in his blog. So Appreciate the every single minute that is passing now. wink* Thats why I am staying awake to complete my Assignments and post for this week:D although it’s already 1am (^.^)

okay, lets start quick and end it fast

Today is our 10% online quiz for ecommerce, and guess what…. it starts on 8.15 and i got up at 7.45 !! omg! im gonna be late ! all thanks to my alarm that doesnt rings ! godness.. i was rushing and speeding to college! luckily i still manage to reach at 8.20 to start the test. (Dont be so happy yet) I was really bad luck this morning. Once i start the test, less than 5 mins I accidentely click on some buttons on the mouse that stopped and terminated the test. So ms.saleena said she cant do anything about it so she ask me to re-sit the test in 1 hour later. Well, what can i say about that. LOL! so i went down and have a smoke to cool myself down.

After 1 hour, i got back up to the lab and re-sit my test. Well, thats where miracle happens and i started to believe that life will not 100% depends on your luck. Eventhough you dont have your luck in the mean time doesnt mean its over. Most importantly is that you do not give up. A strong will power will leads you to sucess. WoW!.. i was really shock with my own results. but ofcourse I am happy with it So after that we all went to cybercafe and play some games to pass our time. cause we have a replacement class at 1oclock till 3 oclock. As jing said, time flies, so while playing the game we didnt even notice its already 1oclock.. hahaha! so that causes us late to class. Ms saleena was kinda pissed I can see that ! wow ! …hahahah! but nevermind la.. no matter how good and patient the lecturer is, there are stil limits and moodswings ! no one will be happy and facing zero problems always through out the whole 365 days in a year. So understood la !

Time flies ! and the class has ended ! we all were so tired and exhausted today. Maybe its been quite some time that we didnt have afternoon classes. So i straight went home and have a nap So thats all i have done for today in college. I love college, College love me wink*

On the other hand, Timberland’s boots are more attractive towards middle-age adults because it’s more to educated and mature type of shoe. Hahaha! Guess u are wondering why shoes also have mature type and childish type. :p Anyway, it makes a different on what type of shoe your wearing and it might affect your reputation too if your some famous dude. Okay! Stop the crap, I will show you the steps of customizing your boots and sneakers from nike.com and timberland.com.

For this, I have choosen a blank one. So at the first part, you will get to design the colour of the shoe you wan. So as u can see in the seond picture, i have random customize the colour of the shoe.

The following is personalization, but this is onli available if you purchase more than one of this item. So for me now, i choose skip.

At the finalization part, you have got to choose your gender and the size of shoe you want and also how many quantity your planning to buy.

After everything is done, you will get a review of your customization. Just double check and see whether any more thigns you need to change, If no then you may add your product into your shopping cart.

Thats the way of customize and purchase a sneakers from nike.com. The shipping and delivery service from nike is more reliable and faster. Once they receive your order, your design is sheduled and materials are prepare, they will be able to send the product to you within 4 weeks. It’s much faster comparing with timberland.com. Another different from timberland.com is Nike merchandise can me return and refund for any reasons within 30 days from ship date.
